The classiest card shark: Eunice Gayson as Sylvia Trench in Dr.No. Image: MGM/UA/EON. |
Ursula Andress is considered by many to be the first Bond Girl of the series silver screen existence, but before her, at the very start of the classic sixties Sean Connery debut with Dr. No, and helping introduce viewers to the character, was the alluring raven-haired beauty Sylvia Trench, as played with charming and alluring sex appeal by fifties and sixties top British starlet and true onscreen sex pot Eunice Gayson. Sadly, Miss Gayson passed away a few days ago at the age of 90, but she'll be forever remembered and treasured for her work in those first two Bond films of which she was always most proud to be associated (also appearing as the same character in From Russia with Love, and yet again always failing to get 007 to herself!).

A sexy, leggy starlet on the rise, Gayson is presumably at Cannes during its nostalgic heyday. |
