SUPERBABE 48: LAURA BENANTI

Sadly, I don't recall the short-lived THE PLAYBOY CLUB drama series- an attempt to cash-in on the success of sixties drama MAD MEN- coming to UK screens. A shame, as one of the leading ladies, award-winning actress/singer Laura Benanti, won some plaudits and looked pretty delicious in her "Bunny Girl" outfit...

SUPERBABE 47: BIRGITTE HJORT SORENSEN

I'm always up for a bit of Danish in the morning, especially when its the delightful and stunning actress Birgitte Hjort Sorensen, who made an impact with viewers, along with the equally lovely Sidse Babette Knudsen, in the Denmark set political drama BORGEN, which would deservedly prove so successful in England on the BBC 4 channel. Despite its apparent third season end, rumours persist that the show will come back at some point, whilst Miss Sorensen has been rumoured to have tested for the next James Bond movie. And with a heavenly body like that its not hard to see why! Alongside her pleasing screen presence, she'd certainly make an impact!

SUPERBABE 46: JACLYN SMITH

For many, Farrah Fawcett was and remains both the ultimate CHARLIE'S ANGEL and the definition of the blonde and lively seventies pin-up. But personally, I always had a soft (and hard) spot for the gorgeous model/actress and soon queen of the television movie, Jaclyn Smith. She had a classy and refined innocence about her, mixed with an occasional realist attitude- attributes to her personality that remain part of her character and beauty to this day. A very sexy combination...

SUPERBABE 45: ROMOLA GARAI

A relatively new British starlet soon making all of us rise to attention: Romola Garai first caught my particular interest in the risque and controversial period drama THE CRIMSON PETAL AND THE WHITE, alongside Gillian Anderson, and later in another BBC2 period drama THE HOURS. An intriguing actress: stunning, gorgeous and bearing terrific legs delicious in nylons, she'll be popping up again on our screens in the not too distant future...

SUPERBABE 44: CAROLINE MUNRO

Definitely living up to her reputation as The First Lady of Fantasy, the delectable model/actress Caroline Munro has made the most of and continues to enjoy her worldwide title. She was well cast as Italian space age superheroine Stella Star, a worthy vampire lover to Christopher Lee's Dracula, was a helicopter flying Bond villainess looking incredible in a bikini for Roger Moore's charmed James Bond, became a worthy and sultry assistant and lover to both Sinbad and Doug McClure's constantly changing American heroes of the mid-seventies children's fantasies, and as a seventies/eighties poster girl for Lamb's Rum she blew men's eyes, minds and hearts away with her stunning and exotic pin-up photography.

I had a chance encounter/meeting Miss Munro literally on a London street back in the early nineties and she was as lovely, friendly and attractive as you'd expect and want her to be.

SUPERBABE 43: ELISHA CUTHBERT

Portraying the tearaway but devoted daughter of the legendary agent Jack Bauer, actress Elisha Cuthbert had a pretty rough time of it being chased by super-baddies in her stints across eight seasons of the hit action thriller 24. But one thing's for sure, out of the grime and explosions she weathered, she scrubbed up well and became one helluva sexy gal!

SUPERBABE 42: CATHERINE SCHELL

She made an impression as a model in the sixties, and her film and TV career would soon become notable via the likes of the James Bond and The Pink Panther movie series, but Catherine Schell would become best known to UK and US viewers as the sexy alien "metamorph" Maya in cult sci-fi hit SPACE: 1999. And with a shape and legs like that, its no wonder Security Chief Tony Verdeschi had the hots for her!

SUPERBABE 40: MICHELLE BORTH

She'd been a guest star on and off the first series of the re-imagined, popular new version of HAWAII FIVE-O, and the producers quickly cottoned on to just how sexy actress Michelle Borth was as Steve McGarrett's continuing love interest, Catherine Rollins. Bringing her into the series full time with Season Three was a bold experiment, and she certainly knew how to handle herself in the action scenes- her following year evening dress/stockings and suspenders wearing fight against an Asian crime boss in a casino toilet certainly caught my eye and proved an memorable highlight to the entire series.

Sad to hear that she's now departed that series, but wherever she goes next, especially after her prior steamy turn in the HBO series TELL ME YOU LOVE ME, I'm sure her male viewers will continue to follow in legion...

SUPERBABE 39: GLYNIS BARBER

Could there ever have been a more sexy young actress on UK TV in the early to mid-eighties than Glynis Barber? Shooting to fame as the sassy gun-slinger Soolin in BBC sci-fi hit BLAKE'S 7, she than made an impact and was a feast for the eyes as the TV translation of the scantily clad war-time comic strip heroine JANE, before becoming the class to Michael Brandon's American attitude cop in the hit LWT series DEMPSEY AND MAKEPEACE. That show, Britain's answer to popular formulaic US TV, was to be lucky for the actress is more ways than one: with an on-screen relationship with co-star Michael Brandon that soon blossomed into real-life love and marriage.

And lucky Michael, too!

SUPERBABE 38: GILLIAN ANDERSON

Chris Carter's ambition to not cast a blonde bimbo in the role of heroic and determined scientist/FBI agent Dana Scully in THE X-FILES, despite pressure from Hollywood TV execs, was certainly one of the best decisions ever made by a rising star creator/producer. As was his casting Gillian Anderson in the iconic role, who soon caught male attention for her simmeringly sexy performances alongside David Duchovny. It was a role that launched her to deserved fame, and all kinds of other attention, especially so when she graced the cover of the UK's lad's magazine FHM, in a series of memorable, scantily clad images. Like fantasies of the reserved Miss Jones the secretary removing her glasses and letting her hair down, male X-FILES fans between the sheets dreams of Scully and Miss Anderson had finally come true!
